Re: EasyOS for the Raspberry Pi4

I have installed it, there is a problem, the wifi cannot be connected, there is the word $ in the password, I don't know if it is the reason. In addition, the installation deb cannot be used. After the installation, the command is in /usr/bin, but it cannot be run. Create a new directory under /hom...

Re: Running EasyOS from a hard drive and problems encountered

This is the first report I have received that keyboard and mouse do not work. Write the .img.gz file to a usb-stick, using EasyDD, or one of the other USB-stick-writers, or just use 'dd. Boot the USB-stick and report if keyboard/mouse working. If yes, then that will eliminate EasyOS itself as the ca...

EasyOS 2.5.5 booted. Grabbed the racy sfs and booted that in a container. Also booted Buster container. Installed qemu and kvm/qemu booted OpenBSD. EasyOS for the Raspberry Pi4

Yes! EasyOS now runs on the Pi4, 64-bit, 5.10.4 kernel.

See blog announcement:

https://bkhome.org/news/202101/easyos-d ... y-pi4.html

It can even run RasPup in a container.

Anyone willing to test it?

Hi iguleder, I sure do remember you!

I just checked, you joined the Murga Forum in Aug 2009, so definitely qualify as an "old timer"!

Great that you want to keep those old Chromebooks going.

@Keef
Is that Partview in EasyOS or EasyPup?

Partview in Easy shows all partitions, mounted or unmounted, however, there are some Partview variants that only show mounted partitions -- I seem to recall that anyway.

"Puppy" https://bkhome.org/archive/puppylinux/amy/index.html The security question is deliberately a bit evasive, does not name the "Puppy Linux" distro as that would be too much of a hint for the spammers. I was getting spammers, so had to modify the question -- I think that I h...

This is the Dunfell-series, packages compiled completely from source using a fork of OpenEmbedded. Kernel is 5.10.2. Blog announcement:

This is for experimenters. The Buster-series, v2.5.5, is recommended for most people.

There are ways to transfer sound over LAN with ALSA alone, but I never bothered to learn. The other possibility is to use jack, but I've never tested ...

I will run my computers in lockdown mode and see if I can hear the internal drives. If so, I might experiment with hdparm.
