I know some people think it is less important than I do, but I think you need a way to keep the stuff that's hooked up to the package manager separate from the stuff that isn't, or at least keep track of what is being upgraded automatically and what isn't.

Re: DARKPUPPY: Fossapup64 Reloaded
It's probably some setting when you make the ISO.
I'll try to figure it out later if someone else doesn't come by with the answer.

It's under "advanced options" in the boot menu of the bootable usb. There are many choices.

Re: MX Linux
I tried the way Fred recommended for Debian Dog to kill the password when logged in as a regular user and it didn't work.
edit: there was no wheel group so I tried using the sudo group and the demo group.

I wrote a couple of little scripts to manage the .desktop entries that are on here someplace.

Code: Select all
The dinosaur-like monster aka 'start button' has been shot down. Findnrun is the NEW start button:
I'll check it out.
xlunch is a good program for menu button elimination too. @rockedge uses it to I think, or at least used to

Re: use a very old DebianDog again
Just get the missing files from the original iso. You might need to use Debian live (version 2 iirc) boot instead of porteus boot which we all use now.
Do you know what version it originally was?
Almost all of them are in archive.org.
If they aren't, I have a lot of the really old stuff.

Sounds good.
I think I might have learned a few things with KLV. I'll try to make a shareable ISO this week.

Re: Test of pipewire with sound
Is it my imagination, or does the package "pipewire-pulse" not exist?
Is there a startup folder for the spot user or does that needed to be added?
