Re: Frugal Full Install - "Pseudo Full Install" for Puppy

I know some people think it is less important than I do, but I think you need a way to keep the stuff that's hooked up to the package manager separate from the stuff that isn't, or at least keep track of what is being upgraded automatically and what isn't.

Re: DARKPUPPY: Fossapup64 Reloaded

Hello @sonny Took a look, today, by booting the ISO file via SG2D. I did try via Ventoy, but it stalls. Few questions This distro does NOT have a version number. Will it be ongoing, by versions? The familiar taskbar of a PUP is not present. Am I missing a key to bring it up? Your picture in your op...

Re: DARKPUPPY: Fossapup64 Reloaded

It's probably some setting when you make the ISO.

I'll try to figure it out later if someone else doesn't come by with the answer.

Re: DARKPUPPY: Fossapup64 Reloaded

I'm having trouble with the ISO. I tried to download it more than once. In DD, where .iso's can always be mounted and opened with the fiiemnt command on right click, it fails with an error. In MX, the archiver extracted it, but all the files were all caps. I haven't tried in puppy, but I don't think...

Re: MX Linux

What I think I"m going to do with it. The MX people seem to have put a lot of thought into everything, including online security, so I think I'm going to set it up as my "on public wifi" distro with a host file and strongish password. Then I can use it, mostly without mounting any dri...

Re: Pipewire sound system setup how-to

Bluetooth works perfectly in Bullseye with the pulse audio run as system user hack. I haven't tried that on bookworm recently. Bluetooth works in bookworm running as root with the pipewire set up with just the 4 files to get rid of the arbitrary "!=root", but won't work with run-as-user (n...

Youtube adblock detection/warning and uBlock Origin

hello Just get the missing files from the original iso. You might need to use Debian live (version 2 iirc) boot instead of porteus boot which we all use now. Do you know what version it originally was? Almost all of them are in archive.org. If they aren't, I have a lot of the really old stuff. If I...
