Re: Can files be transferred from an ext4 drive to a FAT32 drive without file corruption?
You can copy files from any filesystem to any other filesystem without corrupting the files. Files are files. They are not changed by the filesystem they're stored in.

Re: EasyOS Kirkstone-series will continue
I can confirm that the tree-2.1.1.pet, from here, works in EasyOS 5.7. I haven't yet booted EasyOS 5.8 (I have an AMD A4 7300 processor) but I expect tree will work there too. Any chance that tree and copy-fast could be included in 5.8? They are small programs that I find useful.

I clicked the "Update" icon on the 5.7 desktop and it updated to 5.8! Wow, the "delta" file is some 680 MB.

A week or so ago, long access times were the norm for me. I replaced my cable modem and, using Puppy's tools, disconnected and reconnected. Access is much quicker now.

Re: only one of two drive icons showing
Each partition should show as an icon on the desktop. So you should be seeing at least 5 drive icons. Do you know what filesystems the partitions are formatted with?

I assume you mean Bionic Puppy can't see your smart phone. How are you connecting your smart phone to the computer?
Have you tried connecting a flash drive directly to the smart phone?

So you can actually get into the BIOS, you just can't change any of the settings?

Re: Booting with USB video adapter - blank screen flashing cursor
What do you mean, the BIOS is locked? Do you mean you need a password to get into the BIOS? If that's the case, you might be able to reset the BIOS to its original factory settings, which don't require a password.

In EasyOS it's Menu -> Desktop -> EasyJWM configure JWM -> Tray -> Time format. I don't know if FatDog has EasyJWM.

Here's an excellent YouTube video describing the 'Ken Burns Effect' and how to make it happen. It's basically just zooming and panning within the still frame.
