Re: How to make a sound every time you click something?

Alright, the problem was that I didn't have the package xdotool. I was under the impression that this package was part of the system already. Installed the package and the command is working. I also tried lower sleep intervals to reduce the delay between clicking and hearing the sound as much as pos...

Re: How to make a sound every time you click something?

"pkill xbindkeys; sleep 0.1; xdotool click 1; play sound.mp3 & xbindkeys" b:1 It works . The red lines are the lines you have to use in your .xbindkeysrc file. The play sound.mp3 is just an example of the audio command and your expert used the play command instead of your deadbeef , w...

Re: How to make a sound every time you click something?

Alright, I asked around and a xbindkeys expert gave me this tip: You have to prevent xbindkeys to grab the key before replaying the mouse click. Something like this should do the trick : "pkill xbindkeys; sleep 0.1; xdotool click 1; play sound.mp3 & xbindkeys" b:1 This is a little bit ...

Re: How to make a sound every time you click something?

Alright, I have given this a try using xbindkeys. First I had to create file /root/xbindkeysrc. Piece of cake Then in that file I had to specify the command to play the file and the button associated with it, like this (b:1 is left mouse button, and I chose deadbeef because mplayer and mpv take a se...

Re: How to make a sound every time you click something?

Certainly, this can be done for a 'global' rule for mouse behaviour. But from the sounds of it, you want this behaviour to ONLY occur when you're using specific programs? Not so much to have it only work while using certain programs, but to be able to turn it on and off whenever I want, if possible...

How to make a sound every time you click something?

Is it possible to have a custom sound play every time you press a mouse button? sort of like how games work. You click certain things on the interface and you hear a certain sound. You right click and you hear another. If possible I'd like to hear a sound when I left click, and another when I right ...

Re: jackalpup 0.0 - (rc3) plug and play audio puplet

Hi @bob93 Try to select your main sound card again in qjackctl I have seen the default settings not work after install occasionally if I remember correctly. It should be something like ‘hw:PCH’ unless you’re using a usb card. Also, for the rox filer icons, if you right click to bring up the menu, g...

Re: jackalpup 0.0 - (rc3) plug and play audio puplet

What kind of install did you do, and on what kind of partition, ntfs or ext, and did you make a savefile, or are you running in ram? Installed to an ext3 partition. If I go to the livecd and mount that partition I see two folders: jackalpup-0.0frugal and lost+found, so I guess the type of install i...

I just realized I cannot get jack running. On the live cd it worked, however since I installed the pup qjackctl is showing the error "Cannot lock down 82280346 byte memory area (Cannot allocate memory)". The full log is this: Cannot lock down 82280346 byte memory area (Cannot allocate memo...

Re: jackalpup 0.0 - (rc3) plug and play audio puplet

Yup, I was under the false impression that Rox icons could be changed from jwm settings manager. Now there's only one thing left to do. Change the system theme text color from cyan to white. I think I have to edit a text line for that, but there's a bunch of files in the theme folder. Do you know wh...

Re: Spectrum analyzer for internal audio?

Well, it's possible to route to applications using alsa, I think. Though a lot more difficult than jack. I'm looking for the less difficult solution so I guess I'll search for threads about using jack on puppy So sounds like maybe you're using the Hydrogen mixer and trying to get a feel for the eq ...

Re: Spectrum analyzer for internal audio?

But if you're not using jack and just straight alsa then japa applicaton looks like it might do the job, so you could check the debian repository, or maybe the fossapup package manager which can browse the correct compatible Debian repository. Did you try that yet? I have japa, but it picks up the ...

Re: Spectrum analyzer for internal audio?

I don't know what pup you're using, but I'm doing a lot of work with pipewire in KLV-airedale. In fact tonight I used Hydrogen to do a few configuration tests with LSP plugins. Using a jack or pipewire jack setup will certainly allow a spectrum analyzer to be inserted in signal flow. Maybe you're n...

Spectrum analyzer for internal audio?

Is it possible to monitor the internal audio with specrogram apps such as jaaa or japa? When I open them they seem to only be picking up the microphone audio. I want to analyze the internal audio coming from Hydrogen, which unfortunately doesn't have itself a spectrum analyzer. I reckon it's possibl...

Is there a screenshotting program that allows you to set coordinates and size precisely and continue to take screenshots using those settings? I had a look at a few ppm packages and none seems to have the possibility of setting screen coordinates

What's kworker/1:2-even in conky and why it doesn't show on task manager?

Just wondering about this process. I heard it's related to kernel but I've also read linux malware disguise as that process.
Is it normal for conky to show it but for task manager to not show it?

Edit: I've also seen it as kworker/1:1-even and kworker/1:5-even. Is that allright?

@bob93 :- O-kay. What I would do in your situation would be to uninstall the apulse .pet to start with. Question; is this the original Fossapup64 that Phil Broughton released 3 years ago? That's the only one that actually uses ALSA in the same way that earlier Puppies used it. All of the later re-b...

A 64-bit 'apulse' package that will work with Fossapup64 can be obtained from OscarTalks' repo, here:- http://smokey01.com/OscarTalks/apulse-0.1.13-x86_64.pet That's a direct download link, BTW.
