Re: dual boot (Windows, Lubuntu, encrypted) : replace Lubuntu by Puppy ?
I know nothing about how the encrypted boot loader works, but thought that not deleting the boot loader might save you a problem with booting windows. Do you boot windows with the encrypted grub bootloader? using grub implies a bios boot (not using UEFI) windows 7 still? yeah it kind of looks ...

Re: dual boot (Windows, Lubuntu, encrypted) : replace Lubuntu by Puppy ?
a puppy install is a few folders and files that can co-exist with other installs. we call this a frugal install, and it can be done two ways 1. using a utility to create a new puppy and also replaces your bootloader 2. copying the puppy files to your linux partition and editing your current ...

dual boot (Windows, Lubuntu, encrypted) : replace Lubuntu by Puppy ?
Hey I have this old (but cute) Panasonic CF-R9 laptop with a very slow hard drive, dual booting Windows10 and luks encrypted Lubuntu (a "funny" thing is that my bootloader is also encrypted, I thought I wouldn't need to enter my luks password for Windows but I do). I would like to replace lubuntu by ...

Despite the above, the 32-bit Puppy I recommend is dpup-stretch because as I posted here, with relevant links, https://forum.puppylinux.com/viewtopic.php?p=1506#p1506 "it was often recommended for computers as, with the proper setup, it could boot with as little as 68 Mbs of RAM, viewtopic ...

ventoy and Puppy ? / Re: How to rebuild an older Puppy to boot in UEFI computer?
@ all:- Ventoy..... Hm. Looks very similar to Bill's well-known "ISObooter", IMO. Appears to use the same concept, anyway. I'm curious as to whether this could be successfully employed with Puppy in a "frugal" HDD scenario..... Mike. :| I am curious also ;) ... did someone look into it ?? It would ...

Re: Yandex 'portable' browser - 64-bit only
Right. Done some further investigation. I think I see the problem. When I built the Yandex-portable, I replaced the original libffmpeg.so with I obtained from a different source entirely. TBH, I can't remember where I DID get it from, now. So; we'll put the original back! D/l from here:- https ...

Re: Yandex 'portable' browser - 64-bit only
Ah. I know what the problem is. Fossapup has a newer set of base libs than those needed by the included libs directory. You're getting a conflict between what the wrapper-script tells Yandex to use, and what Fossapup comes with by default. In the 'yandex' directory, locate the 'yandex-pup' wrapper ...

Re: Yandex 'portable' browser - 64-bit only
@pierro78 :- Please.....always, ALWAYS tell us exactly what Puppy release you're using; how you installed it; what you installed it to. I say this because there are so many different versions of Puppy (1000s of 'em, if you include all the re-masters & 'spins' over the last 15 years or so), and lots ...

Re: Yandex 'portable' browser - 64-bit only
@pierro78 :- If the libffmpeg.so version in Vivaldi works - you say this is from Quickpet? - then go into /opt/vivaldi/lib. Leave this window open. Open another window on the Yandex-portable browser. Go into the 'yandex' directory, then into the 'lib' directory. Locate libffmpeg.so, and delete it ...
