Re: DistroWatch needs a newer Puppy version listed for Puppy Linux!!!!!

I have communicated with radky on the matter of BW64 - BW32 being the DW submission and he's okay with it BUT..... Alternatively, you (or other forum member) could build a default Woof-CE BookwormPup and submit to Distrowatch. Bookworm will be the current Debian stable release for the next 1.5 year...

as i said it looks to me like the consensus is that we present bookworm as the new distrowatch candidate but lets wait a little while for everyone to post their comments before we send it in wanderer Hi I feel you MUST have Radky's buy in before doing this..... or somebody else must takeover BWP64 ...

Re: DistroWatch needs a newer Puppy version listed for Puppy Linux!!!!!

BookwormPup64 and BookwormPup32 sound fine to me I agree! It should be these two distro's that are the immediate "face" of the Puppy Linux world. Perhaps through those there will be exposure to the likes of F96-CE , VoidPup's , and the entire collection. There must be viable support avail...

Can only think it's something to do with the kernel config.
Determining what kernel config needs to be changed is probably best achieved by posts on other threads.

Oops - you're right!

@Clarity did the previous versions 240413 (still available) boot correctly?

I don't see anything in the Woof-CE commits in the last 7 days to explain a difference..... maybe kernels have had a bump.....

IMO puppylinux.com should either 1. link to a list of currently maintained Puppy family distros, without sorting by 'official'/not, a list that is not controlled by a single person (editable wiki page?) so every developer can add their stuff, or Already done long time ago......... the list was move...

Re: DistroWatch needs a newer Puppy version listed for Puppy Linux!!!!!

BookwormPup is the obvious candidate - nicely polished with some innovations however I think radky is reluctant to promote / devote energy to BookwormPup64 any further than he already has - and it is currently built by a mixture of Woof-CE builds + local remastering. It really needs to be transferre...

The pequalizer pet works for Fossa95 and this Puppy, didn't check anything else. I used the pet I posted for Fossa95. The "calibration" of the slider values changed (I think it has to do with a newer version of ALSA equalizer). You can test the pequalizer in your Puppy (which you have bui...

Unless they use deps:yes whenever possible, so dependencies are resolved automatically and don't need to be named specifically.

It seems like it is often the main component that is being renamed rather than dependencies.....

Is there a way to change the kernel used in Puppy distros ?

You must use a "usrmerge" kernel with BookwormPup64 so most "old" kernels are not suitable......
