Re: What Puppy do you recommend for me?

BookwormPup64 requires a FAT32 partition for a frugal installation Not sure where you got this idea. The requirement is the bios the computer is using. fat32 format is about the partition the boot loader is located on. The frugal install can go on any format. Every computer bios (legacy or UEFI typ...

Did you ever try to log in using the name taersh?

On that log in screen is I forgot my password.

If you click that it will try to send you a E-mail about what to do.

If your E-mail address is still what is in taersh profile info.

Re: Bionicpup64: Boot Issue on Older PC with USB HDD - updating initrd.gz?

I know this topic is about getting Bionicpup64 booting from this USB hard drive.

But much newer versions of Puppy have many improvements to the overall way Puppy operates.

Does any other Puppy version installed on this USB HDD boot OK?

Are you talking about F96-CE_4 Puppy version?

Or the original Fossapup64 9.5?

You need to be specific in what you ask.

What programs???

what exactly are you trying to change or improve in Fossapup64?

Install a Puppy version to the drive the way I told you to. Using Gparted to only partition a drive is half the process. If you are trying to start with a clean drive. Make a new partition table (using the old partition table can still have unwanted stuff in the table) Then make partition(s) I assum...

If both are running in Pupmode 12. They should both be shutting down at about the same speed. Shutdown does not need to update the save or really do anything but shutdown. I just added to my last post. Not sure you have read it. If you are booting using a save. It has to be one of these pupmodes. Pupmode is 12 or 13. This does affect how the save is written to. You can find info on pupmode being used in Pup-Sysinfo ->Sys-Files ->PupState Pupmode 13 will take a little ...
