I have bad eyes so I use a cursor named Fuchsia. It has worked well in all puppy windows and programs except Vivaldi browser. Vivaldi refuses to use it. Brave, Palemoon and Firedox until today and FF stopped using it.
Any suggestions where to look
thanks pete

Re: How to make browsers use Fuchsia cursor?
I like a large cursor too. I've only used FF and Chromium browsers. I found that if I install and then select for system use a cursor before I open a browser for the first time, the browser will use the cursor I want. If I open a browser for the first time before I install and select a cursor, the browser uses a different, smaller, cursor from the one I want.

Flash, thats exactly what I found, and I cannot start fossa again from scratch. There has got to be a simple fix for this.
I unloaded the vivaldi.sfs and renamed the vivaldi folder under .config
reloaded vivaldi and ot did not use my system wide cursor{fuchsisa},

Re: How to make browsers use Fuchsia cursor?
Do you know where these cursor files are actually installed? On my system they are in the directory /root/.icons which of course is hidden hence the dot at the front of the name. If the home directory of the browser is not /root (perhaps because it is running as spot or some other reason) then all you need to do is symlink the directory /root/.icons (containing the cursor images) into the other home directory, so for example you would have a /root/spot/.icons directory which would be a symlink to /root/.icons
Then what happens is the custom cursor appears while over the browser window in the same way as when hovering over the open desktop or other program windows.

@OscarTalks / @PeteAir :-
Mm.....yeah; that would probably work, though I'd suggest giving the sym-link itself the same permissions as the directory you're sym-linking into. In other words, if this IS 'spot' you're linking the /root/.icons directory into, make sure you run
Code: Select all
chown -R spot:spot /root/spot
.....prior to re-starting the browser. I've found this sort of thing to be necessary in the past when attempting similar actions.
Just my two-penn'orth!

@PeteAir :-
Just found a rather nice RED version of Fuchsia, which you might be interested in?

Second down from the top. I like this! Shows up well in my Pups, since I'm using dark or black themes almost everywhere these days...

Re: How to make browsers use Fuchsia cursor?
Mike, I have the fuchsia, and the fuchsia-red they both work real well for me and my eyes. They are the only cursors that do not get lost in web pages.
pete
If I remember correctly you have eye probs also?
Mike I posted a question about Brave-Portable in the advanced /Browser-internet

Just found one you might like even better, mate. A bit bigger than Fuschia, and still available in a very delectable red (oreo-spark-red):-
