GIVE IT A TRY

Though I use a mix of file managers, Xfe will always be my go to file manager. It does everything consistently. It even comes with it's own text editor and image viewer. I spend all my serious file management time in Xfe. The others like pcmanfm/rox/thunar I'll use maybe for opening a file here or there or launching a script.

Xfe has it's own color theme builder built in. I have a directory full of themes, and I even compiled my own icons for it.
