Hello
I downloaded a deb file and when I click on in, it asks for a password. What is that password?

@ Erfan

What is that deb file? Name, version. What are you intending to use it for? -

Also helpful would be the Puppy name you are using -

When that is known then perhaps someone with more knowledge than I might be able to help you -

Background information is a must -

Best regards

Probably you're installing it "as spot". Move the downloaded file to "my-documents" folder, then try to install it.

Give us the information you have been asked!

What is the program?

How did you install it?

Erfan. :welcome: to the Forum.
Please read bigpup's post here, https://www.forum.puppylinux.com/viewto ... p=816#p816. FYI, there are over 6,000 versions and variations of Puppy; with about 30 still actively supported; not to mention debian dogs and Kennel-Linux also maintained on this Forum. There a too many hardware variations which can make up a computer to even estimate. Taking into considerations various Package Managers and web-browsers, there are dozens of ways to download a 'deb'. The obvious way to install a deb isn't the only way.
A particularly important consideration is bigpup's parting thoughts: "The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem."

Well getting Steam to work is one big pain in the, you know what!

Steams Linux version is 32bit software and they do not seem that interested in fixing it to work very well.

They really want you to use their Linux Operating system.

This may get you going, but even I have issues with Steam, and getting it to do anything.

Every time you start it, seems to want to update before it will actually run.

Hope you have a powerful system.
