Hi, F96 installed, frugal, working well, but problems with wlan0 which goes down:

Wlan0 is down
Requesting IP address for wlan0
192.xxxx.xxxx.xxx acquired on wlan0

The above sequence happens every x seconds, I do not know why de interface wlan0 becomes "down" every aleatory time, and require IP address, so, the wifi is connecting and disconnecting inexplicably. Thanks in advance.

My driver is :
Ltd. RTL8821CE 802.11ac PCIe Wireless Network Adapter

Is this happening with any other OS? Wondering if the hardware itself is getting flaky. I have a machine that I now use a USB wifi dongle on because the internal wifi card failed. The symptoms sound the same, dropping the connection every minute or so then eventually nothing. Also had a $9.90 Wifi dongle from China that used a similar or same driver that did the same thing by dropping the connection many times during a 2 minute period.

The wifi works well on windows 11, not problems, so I think the hardware is OK.

Are you using the in-kernel driver for the 8821ce? It is known to be flaky.

I believe that ozsouth has a separate driver package for the 8821ce. He may be along shortly.

@puppyto - strange. I tested Fossa64-9.6CEv4 on my rtl8821ce pc for about an hour with various media playing - no problem. If you have the standard 6.0.12-FP kernel & standard fdrv installed, should be ok. However, if you do have those & still have a problem, I made an out of tree driver .pet to try. After downloading, click on it in ROX-Filer & wait about 15-20 sec till installed, then try to connect. Will also unload & skiplist rtw88 drivers to avoid conflict. Use at own risk.
