Mornin', guys.

Enlighten me, if you will. Does anybody remember what the music OS built by 10wt3ch was called? The one that had its own website, and everything?

Thanks, Rainer.

I've spent hours trying to get this thing to boot on this new HP of mine, and after exhausting every possibility I can think of, I've thrown the towel in. It won't boot from flash drive, it won't boot from HDD. The machine point-blank refuses to "see" it.

I've tried in legacy mode, AND in UEFI mode. I've tried every permutation of bootloader I can think of; all I get is a blinking cursor on a black screen, like there's simply nothing there.... I give up. It's not essential, anyway; I was just curious as to what it looked like, following mention of it in a thread over at LQ.org.

Never mind, eh? Onwards and upwards..! :D

Hi.

Can't see why it won't boot.
It's based on BionicPup64, which boots fine on your machine, right?

@taersh :-

Morning, Rainer.

Ah. I didn't realise he'd modernised it with Bionicpup64. I don't know what I did differently, but I had one last go at installing it to the HDD.....for some crazy reason, it's booting and behaving itself perfectly now! :D

Sod's law, eh? Now I shall have a 'play' with it.....

Hi.

Good that it's booting now.

Just a little hint. Studio 13.37 is missing a mean part to avoid Xruns when producing music.

It's a package called rtirq which can be installed by PPM.

I had some Xruns on my machine in my ArtStudio64 (my own Woof-CE built of Bionic64) even though using the real time kernel from Studio 13.37. They are all gone after installing the rtirq stuff and after give 95% real time priority to the sound devices. The guys from linuxmusicians pointed me to that package and have been very helpful setting it up.

@taersh thanks for that hint !
I have been using 1337 for the last year or so as my main and creative OS and i never checked on that! how silly. just assumed that all was tweaked to the max. I had mostly good luck but some pretty bad xrun frenzies at times, often when using the one wine program I have, so I labed it as such and just dealt with it. I'll have to go back and check some of those tasks with the config optimized...

This topic has come up for me again independently because I am currently using fossapup and fossadog as a base for setting up my own audio canine. I used a script from kxstudio to enable rtirq in fossadog but it didn't seem to take. Didn't think to try an app! I'm just using the low latency kernel with fossadog but from what I undestand the config line "CONFIG_IRQ_FORCED_THREADING=y" gets most needs met.

The 5.4.5 rt from @rockedge is working splendidly with fossapup, I haven't done extensive testing as yet but everything is working well together so far. Jack apps, palemoon and media players at the same time.

1337 has been great and I've learned a lot from using it but it's time to keep the ball rolling with my own remixes I'm sure... :arrow:

@puddlemoon

Hehe, that's exactly what I'm doing these days:
- building my own N.E.M.E.S.I.S. ArtStudio64 2.0.0 from FossaPup64.

I'm still using the real time kernel from Studio 13.37 by now, as I missed the 5.4.5 rt made by rockedge.

Do you have a link to download that kernel?
