Hi,

qemu-6.2.0-r5 doesn't work (see screenshot):

Chromium: on EasyOS 4.5.5 (desktop, not container) is working, but many times crashes, is suddenly gone. But no need to panic, updated Chrome on my CP (Xiaomi) crashes many times too, I think that's a Google problem, but didn`t research. On CP I switched to Opera, and on EasyOS back to Firefox, both are working well.

Anyway, Chromium I need especially for Zoom, Meet and MS Teams - hope it's okay again soon.

Ah yes, there was a bug in the script that computes the required dependencies. When I compiled the "r5" qemu in OpenEmbedded, the package database entry got created with some deps missing. I fixed the script.

Anyway, the dep that is missing is 'virglrenderer' -- go into PKGget and install it, then qemu should be good-to-go.

Your Chromium troubles could be due to hardware acceleration. Go into "Settings" and turn it off.

That's only a guess, but I know that hardware accel can cause trouble. On one of my laptops, Chromium is unresponsive for several seconds after startup, fixed after turning off hardware accel. Firefox has the same problem, which is why I set it to default hw accel off.

Update:
Chromium I didn't test intensively yet -at the moment it is working...

I installed virglrenderer now, so qemu is working fine :-) Thanks @BarryK:

Screenshots here: (Sound I don't need in a VM, but it is working again on the host)

Um... why use an old version from 2021 with later ones available?
Latest qemu is 8.0.3, although I have only used 8.0.2 to date in T2, source files can be found at https://download.qemu.org/, with ref at https://www.qemu.org/.

6.2.0 is the version in the kirkstone release of openembedded. Scroll down here:

http://layers.openembedded.org/layerindex/recipe/68652/

i could bump to a later version, but only if it brings something useful. 6.2.0 is working fine
