Can Puppy compress PDF documents? [SOLVED]

Hi all (FP95)

I just had to compress a PDF via an online platform and wondered if we have a tool inbuilt for Puppy that does the same thing?

If not, I will go down that rabbit hole looking for one :lol:

Have searched in the "Documents" section with no joy, most of the talk is about viewers.

Thanks in advance :thumbup:

**UPDATE**

Compiled and used Mutool (part of MuPDF) to achieve my aim.

This link may help: https://itsfoss.com/compress-pdf-linux/

I tried the cli method and it reduced a pdf from 6372K to 4900K.

I've just tried the Appimage for the GUI (a frontend for the Ghostscript method), and strangely it results in a larger file even on high compression.

@Keef

Thanks for the reply and suggestion :thumbup:

I saw a lot of posts mentioning Ghostscript.

It is installed already on FP95.

I did compile the latest build 10.x without the printer drivers and only the image files required. Passed all the tests etc but when I tried it out via the terminal it complained of a missing library. I got a bit of text explaining the error. It was a fairly large size just for 3 binary files, libs and documentation.

I came to the conclusion, that it was quicker to just upload it and compress it. Shame really :roll:
