http://distro.ibiblio.org/puppylinux/pu ... 64-9.5.htm

look at this detail before you download without real chance to continue  .

astonish the Puppy evolution  !

main threads about new releases are now locked  (WHY :?: )

and no help concerning the choice depending of the hardware equipment especially RAM ...

and that:
but also as a conventional “full install”
is a good detail but not really useful

more important are details how to handle in case of lack of RAM, one of the most frequent causes of deception...

please, user of 64 bit PCs with "poor man equipment", inform us with which small equipment (under the information out above Puppy Linux Release Equipment) you did use that new Fossa Pup build out binaries of Focal Fossa 20.04 LTS from Ubuntu and if you did use really more big app's with success as proposed after the first start within the distribution!

second warning for beginner:

Fossa Pup has NO Seamonkey (required to use as designed the site builder from BK)!

But it has Abiword!

The list of build in app's is empty at distrowatch (rare at distrowatch under the other distributions). You MUST download and start to look in  (but :thumbup2: for the number of downloads  )

Huh. You're still on the same old track, aren't you, oui? Wanting the very newest, brand spanking-new up to date Puppies, built to run on ancient, low-powered hardware......and you're obviously of the opinion that constantly rabbiting-on about it will make people eventually take you seriously? Get real, man.

Please try to comprehend this; as I've said before, if this is what you want, the only way to achieve it is to go back to Pup's earliest beginnings, and build the entire damn thing from scratch, one file at a time. And nobody over at Woof-CE will say "Thank you" for THAT.

Modern software IS getting heavier.....mainly due to the fact that modern programming languages/methods positively encourage 'lazy coding'. Why bother with 4 bytes of data when 4 MB will do the job?...hell, everybody's got so much RAM & storage these days, who cares about saving a few MB here or there?

That seems to be the prevailing attitude.....and we end up with a generation of coders who've never learnt to do the job properly, and efficiently.

It ain't going to change any time soon, mate.

Mike. ;)
