I was reading a post about savefile in HardDisk, USB .... and some posts started to talk about disk and the convenience of one or another.

When talking about puppy, the fastest disk can have less importance, and SSD could not be in first possitions like in other OS.

What hard disk / disks are you using?

I'll begin:

- Main Disk.- 500 GB Velociraptor 10000 rpm (fully recomended)

-Secondary Disk.- 1Tb Barracuda 7200Gb (My Documents and other office material I use daily)

-Backups / SaveFiles and other material (ISOS, TESTS, non esential docs...) Disk.- 3 Tb Barracuda 7200Gb

Really pleased with my main (photo included)

What about u? (Ahhh... I love to install a faster RAM, but my mother board doesn't addmint more than 1333 rpm.... ohhhhh)

(as you can see in the photo where aliexpress translate from english to spanish, some "users" can't differentiate between "pulgadas" and "gb" )

Estaba leyendo un post sobre savefile en HardDisk, USB.... y algunos post empezaron a hablar sobre el disco y la conveniencia de uno u otro.

Cuando se habla de cachorro, el disco más rápido puede tener menos importancia, y SSD no podría estar en las primeras posiciones como en otros SO.

¿Qué disco/discos duros estás usando?

Voy a empezar:

- Disco principal.- 500 GB Velociraptor 10000 rpm (totalmente recomendado)

-Disco Secundario.- 1Tb Barracuda 7200Gb (Mis Documentos y demás material de oficina que uso a diario)

-Backups / SaveFiles y otro material (ISOS, PRUEBAS, docs no esenciales...) Disco.- 3 Tb Barracuda 7200Gb

Realmente satisfecho con mi principal (foto incluida)

¿Y qué hay de ti? (Ahhh... Me encanta instalar una memoria RAM más rápida, pero mi placa madre no agrega más de 1333 rpm.... ohhhhh)

(como se puede ver en la foto, algunos "usuarios" no saben diferenciar entre "pulgadas" y "gb" )

I struggle to trust SSD over HDD.

I've had failures of both. With HDD, it tends to give problems before dying, going slow, making noises etc. When I had an SSD failure, it simply stopped working.

That said, there is plenty of evidence that tells us that SSD is actually more reliable than HDD.

My latest builds run M.2 SSDs that run at 6Gb/s (I think). These are awesome drives that leave spinning HDDs for dust. My most critical machine has a combination of drives. The M.2 is the main drive that everything runs off of, and the save file is on. It also has SATA SSDs in it. But, everything is also backed up onto a spinning platter HDD, just in case.

Who's the maker of your SSD?

My above post was wrong. Not 6Gb/s, but 6600MB/s

Kingston SSD is my preference..
