PPM & PGP keys

Post by Jasper »

Hi all

I just wanted to throw out this question to all.

Canonical (Ubuntu) will be moving to a system of individual PGP keys being required for their Application Package Management in the future.

My understanding of this, is that each application will require it's own individual key to be added to ensure a compliant/safe download for installation.

So, that means a group repository as we have them now in our PPM would be deemed potentially unsafe.

I am unsure if this will only apply to the new builds of Ubuntu releases only or that it will be widespread across all builds.

Will it be possible to add this as a "feature" to the PPM contained within new/older puppy builds?

This would require the inclusion of a PGP libraries.
