Hello:

I'm a last pass user, and I have got non essential passwords hosted there. Now I found some incoherences when using it with SlimJet 39 Portable, so I decided not to use lastpass but continue with Slimjet.

Can you suggest me any similar software to use with puppy ?

My requirements:

1.- Autofill passwords (when you visit a page it automatically fill in the passwords)
2.- Freeware
3.- I can save lastpass passwords in CSV format and export them... I want to be able to import these passwords to the new software.
4.- Secure
5.- It can generate new passwords automatically following your desires about complexity.

.....

Do you know any program to use with puppy???

Thanks a lot.

What I am doing now is use firefox (there lastpass works ok) when I need to access one site, copy user name and password and take it to slimjet saved passwords. It is not the best, but It's OK. jiji.

FYI, KeePassXC is published as an AppImage. The latest versions runs OOTB under F-96*, so should under F96CE_XFCE_FUSILLI 4.4. After setting it up you may want the KeePassXC browser extension to automatically fill in your online passwords in the browser. They are available for both firefox and google-chrome; and likely to function under their clones.

I just started KeePassXC. It does not offer to create a menu entry. As it is an AppImage, it will also not be available OOTB to your OS on boot-up. Since it's primarily used with web-browsers, you may want to create a script you can use in /root/Startup. But having done so, you will be relying on a third party's work to maintain the security of your computer. In that regard, googling indicates it has a good reputation, e.g., https://cybernews.com/best-password-man ... ss-review/. Per that post, "It securely encrypts and stores your passwords on your device instead of the cloud, which is a great feature for users, who prefer having full control over their credentials and data."**

* I have an older version on my computer. IIRC, it worked under Bionicpup64.
** Probably the reason I originally chose it.

@mikeslr ; good afternoon:

As you can imagine, I was tired of thinking about how to configure lastpass with slimjet, I only found difficulties, I installed it, reinstalled, installed again, it looks working, it dissapears.... so, in the end, I decided to install your suggestion, KEEPASS XC-browser.

I went to my add-ons manager, search for it, download, installed it and....

I CAN'T UNDERSTAND ANYTHING.... suddenly lastpass starts working again, I restarted slimjet, shutdown my pc, restart it, suspend it..... and it works.

Why does last pass work this way? NO IDEA

It's possible lastpass is jealous of KeePass and it decided to start working.... hahah... WHO KNOWS??

So, as you can see in this capture, this is my situation now.- I installed keepass, but I don't configure it, because last pass appeared and I haven't got time and energies to learn a new password manager.

THAT'S SLIMJET.... THAT'S LASTPASS... THAT'S LIFE... HAHAH

Thanks everybody for your help and suggestions.- HAVE A NICE DAY

Keypass itself may have a good reputation but the AppImage is a different project.

There is also FPM2, Figaro's Password Manager 2, that is builtin in EasyOS and used to be builtin in the pups.

If it isn't in your pup, it should be available as a pet, via the package manager.

But I don't know if it can import. Um, there should be a webpage somewhere, yes:

https://als.regnet.cz/fpm2/

...doesn't say anything about importing.

Hi, @BarryK and good night:

First of all, thanks for your message, it's an honour receive your suggestions about how to improve our pup.

We had included FFM2 as default, because it was included in F96CE_4 (vid. cap.).

I am not used to work with FFM2 and I don't know if it completes internet pass as lastpass does, or the options included.

I must give it a try, because I'm "scared" with last times lastpass security holes (this problem is minimum for me, because I only save with last pass no essential passwords- no bank account, no Medicine Codes, Driving Licences....).

The "problem" could be in the formats that FFM2 allow to import (XML), because when I downloaded my password list from lastpass, it is in .CSV format, so I must convert it to a XML.- I can't do it with my puppy (I don't know how to do it), and ,although I know, there are some on line services, but I don't want to give a list to a service I am not sure of it's security level and what it gives to me.

As I said, thanks a lot for your answers, good luck with your new project (EASY OS) because for sure It will be a fantastic resource- OS.

As I said at the beginning, thanks a lot for your time and your suggestion.- CHEERS. :thumbup2:
