Tried updating Firefox 68.12.0esr (32bit). It went to 78.3.0esr !!?? and would not restart.
Seems a big revision jump. I has to revert to 68.12.0. Any suggestions or comments?
I have a dual core Dell Latitude D630 running slacko puppy 5.7

I have to concur with 6502coder. Slacko 5.7/570 was built with Glibc 2.15. Firefox has now been compiled to work against, and require, a minimum of Glibc 2.17.

Short answer is quite simple. Either you switch to a browser with lower requirements.....or you need to upgrade to a newer version of the Glibc. And battleshooter's packages, which 6502coder has linked to - and which I collected together into a tarball, along with instructions for use - will allow you to do just that.

The upgrade just 'works', providing you follow the instructions to the letter. The order of installation is particularly important for the last 3 .pets in the sequence, but all things being equal, you'll end up with Glibc 2.20.

Not 'future-proof', by any means (bearing in mind that Busterpup/Fossapup are now running in the region of 2.28-2.30), but it'll keep an older system functional for a while yet.

Finally found time to check the problem with my 32bit slacko57 firefox upgrade to v73.8.1esr.

Many thank to 6502coder & mikewalsh for your links, help & advice.

I got it working by enlarging my save file from 512M to 1024M to accommodate the Racy Glibc-220 upgrade packages. Then it worked straight away

This board is invaluable :D
