Hi,

I succesfully set up my printer using CUPS Printer Wizard - AppSocket/HP JetDirect - socket://192.168.100.5:9100 , I found the PPD file and Driver: Brother DCP-J105 CUPS (color) was used. The printer succesfuly printed test page.

The printer device is also the scanner. I have looked on several discussions about this topic like this: viewtopic.php?t=5899

But I do not understand what URI exactly should I write to my peasyscan config.cfg file

export URI="socket://192.168.100.5:9100" peasyscan output is: Filed to open device: socket://192.168.100.5:9100 : Ivalid argument.

Thanks a lot for any answer

Hello. I'm not an expert in this regard, but check if you need to add that 9100 port to the IP address when setting a scanner, check the user manual for your printer, and the Peasyscan user guides. Also, try disabling the firewall when setting a new hardware. Perhaps it needs to use a port being blocked by your firewall.

Please check this:

The PeasyScan package includes a sample configuration file in the folder /usr/local/peasyscan.

Im not sure if brsanescan4 will only work for brother printer scanners (it's what i have), but you can try:

brsaneconfig4 -a name=UserSelectedDeviceName model=ModelName ip=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

Ex: brsaneconfig4 -a name=MyScanner model=MFCL8900CDW ip=192.168.1.9
