tv stream recorded, no playback sound.

simple screen recorder:
set source as [default] loopback shared
container mkv.
codec vorbis
audio via hdmi
media player vic
in vlc> audio>mute on
can't turn off here, can't find other means.
ext speakers on pc, turned off
this used to work,
but perhaps i've had a 'mouse action' whilst asleep.
