Adding a Hardware Desktop Accelerator to a PUP

I just saw this device. It is intriguing.

Seems to bring a level of productivity I had never thought of. It adds a single-touch capability beyond what we have with our PCs. it is a hardware addition unit which appears to be a type of keyboard which is an accelerator to our work that we 'normally' do in the use of our PCs.

I am curious in what anyone thinks in the effort that would be required to add the unit to the FDRV as well as getting a forum distro to use it.

Idea on how to connect??? Would this be beneficial in our use?

We have <Function> keys already on keyboards.

I can use these key combo's to adjust the volume in mpv and play/pause eg <Fn> F7 & F8.

Mind you that involves using two keys where as the keys are already mapped by the application ie 9 and 0 for volume adjustment.

It would interesting to know if there was a possibility to remap keys generally.

I think this is as simple as configure shortcuts to programs, commands, web links...

Great idea. I can see this as being particularly useful for older, less technical users. Especially if teamed up with some form of improved mouse to elliminate the mechanical co-ordination issues often experienced by the arthritic or elderly.

The elgato reminds me of the "Magoo" onscreen shortcuts developed by forum member ETP.

interesting, but shifting the IRQ to a least-used number is just as fast.

Money talks... no, it shouts, so that it doesn't have to hear common sense.
