Hi Darren,
That yt-viewer package doesn't work anymore, the latest (v3.7.6) was posted by Argolance in the old-forum gtk-youtube-viewer thread
Btw, I appreciate your enthusiasm, but isn't it better to wait a while with posting loads of stuff, there's a chance that the contents of the old forum can be transported to this forum.

Standalone package of gtk-youtube-viewer, v3.7.6 (.pet and .sfs, 32-bit), from Argolance:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/tooppy ... ultimedia/

EDIT: based on a "cde-package", so should work on any Linux 32-bit, old and new.

Hello Fred,
Just tried the .pet version on lucid 5287. This is on an old Toshiba laptop (800MHz 320MB) and I did not expect it to work but it did. Only tried it on the lowest resolution but both audio and video are in sync. Also have racy 551 on this machine so might try the .sfs and see if it will work on both. Thanks for this.

Regards,

Ken.

Hi keniv, it's to be expected, the purpose of the standalone "cde-package" is that it works on any Linux 32-bit (old and new).

Did not know what was meant by "cde_package". From the point of view of running at least one quite old machine it's a pity there's not more of them. Have removed the .pet and replaced it with the.sfs so I now have it working on racy as well. Sometimes a box comes up showing the message "Something went wrong" with some further details, however, the video and audio still plays OK. Video starts to break up a little at a resolution of 480p. Above this I only get the audio. It's best at 360p. Guess this is down to the limitations of the laptop. I still think it's great it works at all on this machine.

Regards,

Ken.
