I have a puppy install on usb with save file and its non uefi. Is there any way to change it over to uefi + legacy bios and keep my encrypted save file and my other data?

Yes, you can even have both on your usb
which puppy and which bootloader are you currently using?
why do yo want to change?
there are machine specific configurations in the machine bios that may need to be adjusted if you wish to use your usb in multiple machines. do you have a machine your usb does not work in?
I am using fosspup with syslinux. I know I can boot pupy with the legacy boot but I would like it to have uefi boot. There is only an option to boot from legacy boot.
Hi santa,
Couple of ways to do it, but easiest is to add a EFI directory to the root ( / ) directory of the USB.
Unpack the file below and use that EFI directory

How would I make syslinux boot with uefi?
The file you liked is for grub and not syslinux.
Doesn't matter, did you try it?

Just tried it on my uefi system and it works fine. Boots into syslinux for legacy boot and grub for uefi.
thanks

Nope, syslinux passes the bootloader to grub4dos for legacy and grub2 for UEFI

Did not know that but it ends up working fine.
