Browser cache, temporary Internet files ? [SOLVED]

Hello everybody:
I want to ask you a question?

I think my browsing speed is going down with time I use my browser.

That is, when I just install my slimjet 38, it goes really fast, but the more I use it, the more time it takes to start and the speed looks worse.

Is a subjective perception or is do to another thing?

In this case, can you tell me how can I make this disappear? (No cache, lower one, locales it at another place, delete temporary files when closing browser...)

Thanks in advance.

How much RAM in the computer?

Do you have more than one tab open?

Do you have the browser setup to block anything?

Are you going to web sites that have all kinds of popup stuff?
Adds, videos, etc.......?

Are you asking it to start, displaying what was there, when it last was shutdown or display only the home page?

As far as starting up.
Web browsers are kind of slow starting.
If you installed the browser, it will take a little time to be read from the save and loaded into RAM to run.
Plus the things do tend to do some things in the background, before actually displaying.

@pp4mnklinux ,

In slimjet, you can set the cache size and location internally. Use the far right icon on the toolbar to open settings> cache options or just paste and go to: 'chrome://settings/cacheOptions'. In general, @mikewalsh portables either offer an option to clean the cache at shutdown or, in the case of Brave, limit its' size in the LAUNCH script. I usually limit my cache sizes to 15 or 20 MB or so but what you choose depends on your browsing style.

Cheers,

Since it's Chrome based, you can also control where the cache and user profile are located, their size, etc in the command line or a custom .desktop file.

Debian dog example, so the paths don't make sense for Puppy, but you get the idea. You might need to create the folders and set their ownership as needed running as spot.

Code: Select all

google-chrome-stable --disk-cache-size=10000000 --media-cache-size=10000000 --user-data-dir=/live/image/PulseBullseyeDog/LinkedFromFileSystem/Chrome/UserProfile --disk-cache-dir=/live/image/PulseBullseyeDog/LinkedFromFileSystem/Chrome/Cache

Thanks a lot for your answers.

What slow down my connection was using a google user and all the things that it must sincronize.

I solved it browsing without google connection ( no sincronizing).

I connecto one time with my account to sincronize all my extensions, passwords, favourites.... and when I have them all, what I did was stop sincronization.

If you are interested, the addons that work better for me are the following:

1.- Lastpass, it's a must, I don't need to remember all the passwords I use .- I never know them, my default password is about 20 characters and one time I do this, is lastpass who generate passwords (20 characters, caps, numbers, symbols...)

2.- Faster web https://chrome.google.com/webstore/det ... cepjcmdnjg . I don't really know what it does, but it works for me.

3.- Full screen.- Some gonna tell me is stupid have an extension to do what F11 key can do, but some times when browsing I dont want to use keyboard, but mouse.

4.- Web Boost.- Web Boost - Wait Less, Browse Faster! The same as faster web, I dont know what it does, but it does... jajjaj

5.- BROWSEC VPN https://browsec.com/en/ Privacy the first.- You can use it or not, it depends the moment, your needs and what u want.

As I told, thanks a lot for your help. Have a nice day
