Trouble flashing 10.x iso to bootable usb key

I saw that there was a similar thread to this one earlier (trouble creating a bootable usb with Rufus) and Etcher and Bootflash were both given as acceptable ways to flash a new bootable usb. I have been trying to flash a new bootable usb with the latest 10.x.144 xwayland version. I've tried to flash the iso file with both Bootflash and Etcher, but both utilities give an error that the iso is not a hybrid iso.
I was wondering.... has something changed with the 10x series, or am I just going about this the wrong way?
Thanks so much for your help

Nothing has changed. Are you sure you're flashing the right file?

HI @Airdale :
Is posible you read I have problems installing VanilladPup. I continue having them when trying to install as a frugal system y a hard disk, but my difficulties when instaling on a USB had disspeared.
I solved it this way:
I downloaded Rufus again
I put the iso file in the same partition as Rufus is installed
I record this iso using rufus in a USB
And I can star vanilladpup 10 without problem.
Only one thing that make me thing it was not recorded... when you boot your vanilla from the USB, appears a message indicating something about 60 seconds wait. You could think vanilla is not going to work, but don't worry, go, prepare yourself a coffee and when you go back, vanilla is running.. haha.
I used Rufus 3.21p (portable). You can search for it, or download from https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Zcp-s ... sp=sharing , this is the one I used.
Hope it helps .

I think so. It is vanilladpup-10.0.144-xwayland.iso

Kind of strange. Not sure what the problem was. Bootflash gave me an error... saying "This is not a hybrid ISO, refusing to continue....."
I though maybe if the iso was not a real hybrid iso with partitions maybe it would work on a DVD.
So I pulled out an old USB optical drive and burned a disk.
I then was able to boot up the disk without incident.
I then was able to install the currently running OS to a flash drive without trouble.
So is working now, just had to go about it indirectly.
Thanks!
