@ozsouth

Hello every body:

Some days ago, you helped me a lot with the drivers for my usb wireless (https://forum.puppylinux.com/viewtopic.php?t=7767) and as I told u there, I bought a better usb card (tp-link TL-WN722N v2 ) but I need drivers too, for xenialpup 7.5 64Gb.

Please, can you help me again with the drivers for my puppy?

Does your Xenial setup have its zdrv sfs file? These wifi devices should work OOTB.

Run the command: dmesg | grep -i firmware

Run: lsusb

Identify the vendor:product ID codes.

@pp4mnklinux - As rcrsn51 says, these should not need an extra driver.
You really should run the lsusb command & get the code [9x9x:9x9x] as per above post.

From the source you found, needs rtl8188eus driver. I assumed that is correct & as I
couldn't see that in your 4.9.58 kernel, as either builtin or module, I made a .pet for it.
Tried 3 different source files before compile/load succeeded. Use at own risk.
See: https://www.mediafire.com/file/xpdjcb0y ... 8.pet/file
After downloading the .pet, with the adaptor plugged in, click on it in ROX-Filer.
After a few seconds, try to connect.

I couldn't see that in your 4.9.58 kernel,

It's in staging. Run: modinfo r8188eu

You helped me a lot

This is the second time that I have asked you for basic trouble-shooting information and you have refused again.

I tested Xenial64 with my own rtl8188eu adapter and it works fine.

rcrsn51, excuseme, but I thought this ....

@rcrsn51 , excuseme if you consider this action an incorrect form of acting, but this must be a confusion.

I thought that my answer to your question has got no value considering that with your answers my problem has been solved.

I dont want to make u waste time or think about something you have solved, but if you want more information for knowledge or improve your knowledge or the forum knowledge, I'll try to answer your questions in future times.

Accept my apologies, I'm really sorry, but as I told you it must be a missunderstanding from my side.

Excuseme.

Have a nice day.
