How do you install Clamav? (solved)

Would one of you clever people provide me with an idiots guide on how to install Clamav.
I've downloaded and installed the .deb package from clamav.net but get the same error as in the post below:-

viewtopic.php?t=3711

It says solved but it's not obvious what solved it.
I've done all it said in the post but still no go.

I'm running Bionic 64 and Fossa 64 but both have the same problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
