Re: I'd like a magnifier
I know you've stated before that you don't like it.....but I still say that JakeSFR's "MagDock" takes a LOT of beating for a lightweight magnifier that does everything you could ask of such a tool:-
It's no good being SO "fussy" with exact & specific requirements that you talk yourself out of everything that's available out there. Ya gotta do a wee bit of research yourself, y'know? I often get the impression some members think the forum's just a kind of glorified Q & A help-desk, when all's said & done......!!

perhaps i could use 2 mice, one to locate kmag window, and one to operate normally. i have a wired and a wireless mouse, but they only give one cursor.

@PeteAir :-

Thanks for the heads-up! This works nicely.....very similar to Windows' "VirtualMagnifyingGlass", which runs nicely under WINE, if you have it installed. However, it has the same disadvantage as the latter item:-
I run a number of animated GIF 'launchers' on the desktop, courtesy of Fred's 'GifOnDesktop' package. I also have gKrellM chugging away on-screen. The disadvantage with both VMG and VirtualMagnifyingGlass (I'm guessing they're the same item, TBH!), is that while these are active, all movement on-screen freezes till you quit them.
JakeSFR's "MagDock" - mentioned above- avoids this issue. However, its magnifying window is 'fixed' at either top or bottom of the screen....
(*shrug*)
EDIT:- Yep, it IS the same app. Same developer, a guy in Sao Paulo, Brazil.... (Don't get me wrong; it IS a good magnifier; just doesn't really function the way I want for my use-case!)
