I have been working on a text document, but when I try to save it, I get:

"Writing error when attempting to save file."The file is on a FAT32 USB (external) harddrive. C'mon man, I just can't get a break.
Seriously, how does anyone work like this?

Is the location mounted?
is .odt a file option provided by Abiword?
Abiword is always doing strange things.
I would suggest installing LibeOffice and using it's writer program.
Or
Install OpenOffice and use it.
The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem.
