I am finding there has been a change in The Pirate Bay. Where you search for TPBproxy will give you a TPB site to search on so it brings up titles as expected . You copy the magnet link and add url it into transmission .

However the link will not load and if it appears to the title changes ! to a different site !
None of the new links I am getting are working now. It just does not get any peers and can go no further.

Anyone out there seen the same and know how to get around this?

Pirate Bay is not the only player in town.

Have you tried using UGet for the magnet files instead of Transmission?

I wanted to get Barry's EasyOS running and it has uGet.
Tried to put the torrent in there to d/l it but it wanted a loginuser and password before it would go anywhere. See screenshot.
I'm lost as to what uGet wants for torrents
Having trouble loading the screenshot atm. Will work on it

I've used this site to convert problem maglinks to torrent files.

I use qbittorrent, so I won't be much help for transmission issues.

I do not use EasyOS, so am unfamiliar with how it is setup. I think asking directly in their forum might elicit more assistance.

Have you tried to add the torrent file via the tray icon?

Finally uGet uses Aria2c as the downloader.

You could try to do it via a terminal window, for example using your link:

# Command to download file via bittorrent magnet link using aria2.
# See website and documentation at https://aria2.github.io
# -d specifies the directory to store the downloaded file
# --seed-time=0 disables seeding after download has completed

aria2c -d /root/Downloads --seed-time=0 "magnet:?xt=urn:btih:A0B21818876C5B140EDFD4D8F57D36BE1A526694&dn"

Remember to change the download path to where you store your files

BTW you might want to edit your torrent link so it does not show the content title.

Unfortunately EasyOS does not seem to have aria2.
This problem was initially found on a desktop running xenialpup64 7.5 but that machine has a fault and cant be run atm thats why I'm on my laptop which has EasyOS on it first to try.
Don't know yet if Xenial has aria2c on it It does not . Barrys PPM does not seem to have it there and does not seem to have much at all.
The content was just something I could think of to test.

The point is the magnet link just isn't right . Its been doctored.

I did try the PB magnet link and it works fine for me as shown in the screenshot.

Also, tried a torrent link and that worked fine too.

My firewall has been turned off.

If you are uncomfortable using the link as you feel it has been altered, just do not use it.

Works for me with Transmission (downloads the Ad.Astra movie, does NOT change to something else).
@Jasper looking at your screenshot I think that it downloads the wrong movie (not Ad.Astra.2019.....).

Well, you just tested the magnet link that @April provided, so no blame on you, to blame is probably the terrible hacking (or whatever ) of the Pirate Bay site and/or proxies.
(if I were using Window$ I wouldn't dare to go there )

Working on it seems to indicate it might just be permission problems . Changing permissions to 'rxw,rxw.---' gave this effect . I have the link saved in a text file and I copy it when I need it.
So its still not downloading yet but closer.

I don't know if this is the problem here, but I can tell you that with a lot of these proxy-type download web sites, the hackers are quite cunning. There is often an invisible layer of links on the web page which is see-through, but it is on top of the web page that you are viewing so you think you are clicking on something you want, but in fact it triggers adware or other malware, usually in a new browser tab or new window. Sometimes these will be activated by a click anywhere on the page, sometimes they are over specific spots. Usually I find you can cancel the unwanted action you have triggered (close the new browser window) and then the wanted link is exposed and can be clicked, but you have to do it within a few seconds because the adware/malware invisible skin will return and again prevent you from clicking the link you want. Often I find that magnet links are visible on a page, but I have to do those steps to clear the invisible layer first. I have never seen false magnet links on top of wanted magnet links, but I suppose they could easily do that if they wanted to, then even hovering mouse over the link the text in the bottom left would still look like you were about to click a legitimate magnet link. Anyway, just something to consider and be aware of.

Yes I have seen that too where it moves you on to another page and the back button gets back to the link it should be . That was usually on Utube video download sites like "yt1s" that I saw similar..

I have been checking and there has been no change in behavior for me . I use a proxy site and when I choose one I first test the top 100. I notice that does not find anything. Searching for a file usually brings a result and copying the magnet link gives a torrent address which I bring up in Transmission and the torrent seems to start OK. Then as I watch the torrent being downloaded the name changes to something about TPB download and it starts downloading a completely different file.

I am sure this is to download something I don't want so I delete the lot immediately.

Anybody else seen this? Any suggestions how to get around it?
