EasyOS.4.5.1 in VMware-WorkStation-15 - Installing VMware tools

I have EasyOS-4.5.1 running as a Guest O/S within VMware-WorkStation-17 player on a Windows-11 desktop. I also FossaPup64-9.5 installed in a separate folder in the same VM.

I am trying to install / configure VMware-Tools inside EasyOS.
Installation fails as it is expecting directories 'rc0.d ... rc6.d' within /etc. The same VMware-Tools install succeeded with FossaPup-9.5.
Any suggestions on how to work around the missing rc*.d directories ?
