This is model is F96_1-CE a Fosspup64-9.6-CE, which was built at midnight from woof-CE using the kernel huge-6.0.5-lxpup64.tar.bz2
.
Modified under moon shadows to include JWMDesk-3.6 and nicOS-Utility-Suite-2022.
F96_1-CE uses pulseaudio and includes the latest developments in woof-CE for the production of Fossapup64-CE's and some adjustments to the desktop arrangements.
Ready for testing the ISO resides here -> https://rockedge.org/kernels/data/ISO/F ... 6_1-CE.iso
or https://rockedge.org/kernels/
Keep in mind the desktop "look" features and arrangements are not set in stone nor is any of the system. This release is for testing and evaluation.

This works superbly on my PC and the fonts seem clearer and the audio is much louder than before.
BTW ..... you left your browser history behind .... nothing to worry about
Is it possible to view passwords when entering them for WiFi connections?
Very tempted to use this instead of my current FossaPup

I really like the tiny icon in the bottom right hand side of the screen beyond the time.
At first I thought it was the EU flag and once clicked, I liked the options available to me.
Is it possible to put this on my desktop? Or in the toolbar?

to adjust the backlighting of the screen brightness in jwm, everything is already written down, it remains only to install the brightnessctl
utility from PPM
There is also a ( Display control } utility in the menu to control the backlight . ( Display control ) is bundled with JWMdesk-3.6
you can also install the equalizer for pulseaudio x64 viewtopic.php?t=6516 swh-plugins
available in PPM
don't forget to restart X

Lots of menu items seem to be missing as are those applications. Menu->Internet is almost empty.
Not exaclty sure what happened and I will need to consult @dimkr on how to improve the woof-CE build phase for F96-CE

I double checked the applications listed under the Internet section.
They are present and all seem to work ie open up a dialog box reading to go.

@Sofiya I will include those you suggested in the next version. I also think they will be good and worthwhile additions to have onboard in the basic versions.
@Jasper That is good that they are there!! In my QEMU virtual machine F96-CE is strangely missing stuff in the menu. On bare metal it is working here too.

The whole OS feels so much snappier in response and I liked the desktop setup. Looks clean and professional to me.
Have never used a XFCE desktop before but do like it.
It's late here now. So will go through the applications etc tomorrow for progress.
Will a DevX file be made available to us?

I found that my QEMU virtual HDD version is missing the adrv and bdrv SFS files. Problem solved.

Don't forget, Erik; if I understand Dima correctly, current Woof-CE now builds an absolutely minimal OS, with next to nothing added. Everything is there that needs to be, for a reliable, secure, modern, super-quick Puppy.......but it's all down to the user to "populate" it.
I think a lot of the minimalist VDPup "ethos" has rubbed off on it.
Mike.

A lot of little things wrong.
Do you want them reported or only really big stuff?
It boots OK and works.

I have a question related to video cards. I also have a mutant, a laptop with a built-in 6520G and plus 6650M on board.
Is Puppy loading fast? Doesn't try to figure out which video card to use for a few minutes at the start?
I have to disable 6650 in BIOS.
You have the seventh version, but still.
And if possible, please install HardInfo or inxi and show what it says about the video.
Ну, ежели не трудно
This is the version with apt, isn't it?

These missing menu entries are probably caused by some error during the build.

That's wrong. woof-CE hasn't changed in this regard. If you take a look in Ubuntu and Slackware-based builds, they haven't changed at all, and today's woof-CE can still reproduce Slacko 7.x and BionicPup64.
It's only dpup that's relatively barebones and if you want to add extra applications, everything is configurable (like it used to be).
(And the jammy64 configuration is very barebones because nobody stepped up to build packages for it, add them to the package list, and bring it to release-quality.)

Hi @Grey
It loads quickly, I don’t disable anything anywhere, it doesn’t check anything when loading
This version without Synaptic

It was my mistake. I did not set up the QEMU machine up correctly so adrv and bdrv did not load. I was able to staighten out the problem.

About laptop graphics.
If the laptop has integrated graphics in the processor. (most do)
Also has a separate graphics card.
Puppy Linux is only setup to work with the CPU integrated graphics.
It will not try to use the add on card.
Well, so far no one has tried to get Puppy Linux, to have the ability to use both.
The idea is, the CPU graphics does the normal stuff, and the added graphics card, auto takes over, for the heavy stuff.
Laptops with duel graphics hardware, requires added stuff to make it work.
There is a ATI radeon hardware way of doing this and a Nvidia hardware way of doing this.
This is info for the feature with Nvidia graphics:

Thank you very much.
I have a generation older than AMD ARUBA and not HP, but hope has appeared. There is a reason to wipe the dust off the Acer laptop and conduct a series of experiments.

Well, so far no one has tried to get Puppy Linux, to have the ability to use both.
However, on all previous Puppies I had to manually disable the second card in BIOS. Otherwise, not everyone could stand the nerves to wait for the launch
The point is not the ability to use a second card and switch them, but at least the ability not to disable anything in BIOS so as not to interfere with Win 7 (which has a special driver).

By the way, not only Puppy (I'm not trying to put all the blame on our pet). Linux Mint (third place on DistroWatch ) behaves exactly the same way. Maybe Acer or AMD is to blame and the implementation curve, I'm not sure.

Hello very late to the party.... yesterday by chance saw there was a Fossapup 9.6 ....... found this, how could i missed it is a puzzle, a year ago asked if there would be another update to Fossapup64 9.5 it seemed not so i left if.
anyway Fossapup64 9.5 runs exceeding well imo , so when EasyOS 4.5 onwards ( I think came along) i was in a kind funny kind of way a bit upset haha (no disrespect to Dear Barry K at all) anyway EASYOS 5.5 worked fine thereafter, however a little downhill all really to do with my VPN APP manual ip & DNS .
So late yesterday installed F96-CE_4.iso short i guess for the above Fossapup64-9.6-CE it is 538mb a little bigger than Fossapup96 9.5, but very fast and network connecting instantly no issue like 9.5 has a bit flakey with my built in Realteck 8168 Pci-e giganet ethernet .
The desktop was somehow a little different good/clean i installed xf86-video-amdgpu-23.0.0-x86_64 it works i think cant notice/see a difference. VPN all good connects automatically and quickly/fast. So far all excellent.
