Window-Manager-Switcher

Sofiya has provided a WMSwitcher here https://www.forum.puppylinux.com/viewto ... 847#p71847. It enables switching between the xfce and jwm window managers under vanilladpup-9.2.17. Might work in other Puppys, untested. Back up your SaveFile/Folder vanilladpup-9.2.17, or if running PupMode13 boot pfix=ram install and restart graphical server. Use at your own risk but report successes, failures and adjustments so that we'll all know.

hi @mikeslr
Modify 01micko's script, add gettext and support for bspwm dwm Lxde and Mate.

I leave the pot file in case someone wants to translate it to their language.

@josejp2424 Thanks!

Works well now on a JWM-Spectrwm-Cortile hybrid Frankenpuppy.

Wait you've got one OS with Cortile, JWM, and Spectrwm? crazy!

@geo_c Plus this is actually a F96-CE_4 instance3 install built with @wiak 's KLV-multi, so the frugal installed instance3 is made up of symlinks and a physical save folder.

The actual path is /mnt/home/Testpup/F96-CE_4/instance3 with /mnt/home/Testpup/F96-CE_4/instance0 being the location of the base system's SFS's.

The entire instance3 is a Total: 2527 M (21860 files, 2672 directories) in size with fossapup64save-instance3 weighing in with 99% of the total size of the frugal installation.

/mnt/home/Testpup/F96-CE_4/instance3 has both JWM and Spectrwm onboard and both work. Then there is Cortile that can be enabled on top of the JWM desktop.

Downside is Spectrwm is best when using it's overall lightness as the only installed WM. F96 without JWM is difficult to achieve though so for experimentation I just made the system have both that I can now choose from without having to drop to console and using xwin spectrwm or xwin jwm manually.

If I break this system there is instance1 and instance2 waiting in the wings......

The beauty of multi-instance. But I never did it with a puppy yet.

For cortile you might want to add these key-bindings and desktop file: viewtopic.php?p=111014#p111014

I remember trying this window manager switcher one time on vanilladpup way back, and I had installed Xfce, and it caused it to crash. I believe that was vanilladpup version 9.

I think I just didn't get a "proper" Xfce configuration setup. But I didn't explore far enough to figure it out.
