Trump will return! (although for now he assures that he is staying on his own portal)
There will be flame wars. Proponents of vaccination vs. opponents. Ukraine supporters vs. opponents. Etc. There will be big passions during the discussion and this will bring big profits for Musk
Twitter - these are all small things In my country, Meta (and hence Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp) was recognized as an extremist organization in the spring. And in October, Meta was also considered terrorist. Here it is - success and recognition

Heard Musk say that with his acquisition of Twitter, the future of civilization hangs in the balance.
Had a neighbor who was running down the street naked in the middle of the night sometime ago. I went outside and caught up with him and I asked "how's it going?"
He told me he had to camouflage himself and stay on the move because AOL was after him to be their Chief Executive Officer and he just wasn't into it.
My answer was "ya that would suck. I'll see you around, if I can"

Freedom of speech is a principle that supports the freedom of an individual or a community to articulate their opinions and ideas, without fear of retaliation, censorship, or legal sanction

By the way, for the sake of completeness, I will link my post with this one. At the end of March, the icons of Meta products had to be removed from MagOS. So that there are no problems with the legislation, just in case As they say somewhere in the deserts of the East, "hope for Allah, but tie the camel tighter"
Re: Elon Musk completes Twitter takeover and ‘fires top executives
It is good concept. But Musk is a businessman and like to earn money (Twitter didn't make big profits). In China there will be another freedom of speech than in USA, Russia or Iran like results of searches in Google.
Musk said that he will still react on some behaviours (it was a wink to the big companies that will have accounts on Twitter, who may abandon Musk's platform for not responding to FUD).
Twitter have many problems with ghost/trolls accounts - from left and right side of political spectrum. If Musk will close left ones, there will be voices that Musk is right-winger and vice-versa. In Poland, internet users are still fighting wars over whether Facebook is right-wing or left-wing. As usual, the point of view depends on where you sit.
So freedom of speech for Musk could be the hen that lays the golden eggs or the problem.
Freedom of speech is a principle that supports the freedom of an individual or a community to articulate their opinions and ideas, without fear of retaliation, censorship, or legal sanction
Well, there is an old suitable anecdote about this
An American and a Russian are sitting in a bar. American: "Here we have real freedom! I can walk up to the White House and shout that I hate the American president." Russian: "We have exactly the same freedom. I can go to Red Square and shout that I hate the American president".

The evil powers of the world are much higher than Musk. To such people America and Russia are merely sports teams. Choose your side - win or lose. It does not matter - the poor still go hungry. The empires get bigger.

Freedom of speech is a principle that supports the freedom of an individual or a community to articulate their opinions and ideas, without fear of retaliation, censorship, or legal sanctionThis is an ability any communicating organism uses. It articulates an organisms ability to make noise
The problem which is at the heart of today's world is the ability of INFLUENCERS to make lies into truths!!! ... without reprisals which damages human directions.
"The earth is flat!" coming from the right noise-maker will be taken and run with as truth and has detrimental consequences to the rest of human cause...sometimes to killings and war! This is what has been at the heart of what is now mainstream in the world.
In technology and in science, information is tested for accuracy and if inaccurate is discarded. In today's world sites can make money by supporting INFLUENCERS who have NO intent of Mankind's development...rather their own beneficial enjoyment and enrichment with little to no regard or responsibility of harm done by their noises ... opps "freedom of speech".
AFter witnessing this kind of damage occur many times in the 20th Century, how and why have we fallen into that trap again?
I feel we are headed. again, into the madness when the little safeguards that exist are removed.
Lets burn the books, destroy all evidence of past knowledge, and start all over again??? Is that the answer? What does History say...opps "evidence" say?
Re: Elon Musk completes Twitter takeover and ‘fires top executives

And the depth of problem is immense, because as should obvious, but isn't a universal understanding, even the scientific process is open to corruption. Money, it's ability to corrupt is endless.
There are many examples, but I think an apt one is Alfred Wegener who proposed “Continental Drift” in 1912, but was ridiculed by fellow scientists. Eventually tectonic plates became the accepted understanding of the earth. But until then he was considered a quack.
And in today's information economy he would have been censored. If today he was considered a "quack" in the field of medicine, he would lose his ability to practice.
What approach does more damage to human development?
Re: Elon Musk completes Twitter takeover and ‘fires top executives
And in today's information economy he would have been censored.
I am not so sure that this is accurate.
Einstein as well was ridiculed...so was Galileo...so was Tesla, so was..., but in these cases, the community looks at evidence as it has for thousands of years.
Today, we continue in evidence related areas to investigate new findings to brighten or expose reality. Thusly, there are checkpoints in investigative research and clearer vision approaches.
Noise makers ... opps "freedom of speechers" are NOT looking at evidence to improve the vision of reality!!!
"Throw out the evidence! Let's start over with only my noise. Lets use false narratives"
What approach does more damage to human development?
Re: Elon Musk completes Twitter takeover and ‘fires top executives

Gailileo was put under house arrest. He could have been put to death. That is not how I prefer to operate.

There is an industry of sensationalism, and you seem to have specific people, or types of people and organizations in mind. Seems these need to be evaluated on a case by case basis.
What I've observed, in the last few years especially, is some of the most published and cited research scientists being 'debunked' by media and tech conglomerates. And that to me is the definition of facism, merger of state and corporate power.
I personally do not use social media at all. No facebook, twitter, instagram, tik-tok, what's app, etc. No paypal, ebay, google, apple, cloud services, spotify....
not any web activity that seeks to build a profile of sleep habits, musical tastes, etc...
Elon Musk is not going to change a thing. He works for the military who pioneered and maintain this technology.

"Fascism is a far-right, authoritarian, ultranationalist political ideology and movement, characterized by a dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition..."
This is now rising with the most powerful armies of the world set to put this all in motion for the rest of us. American form of democracy will fall as they continue in the direction unleashed in the world beginning 2015.
The past recent years is NOT attempting to ban free speech rather to to remove speech which does NOT have the community's best interest at hand. This effort if lost will allow a faster movement to Fascism as the noisemakers will dictate what to believe for human behavior. Thus book bannings and other such prevailing behaviors will set humankind back to those days from which we overcame. The noisemakers will dictate and we MUST follow or be killed.
What I HOPE evolves is a community where lies and information which has no evidence is allowed is separated from the rest of us such that we have 'allowed' places KNOWN to support evidence and research. Right now, it appears the noisemakers are winning the battle.
Trying to intermix those who want new-information based on some new evidence with those who exist ONLY to mis-inform or to stop research is a catalyst for disaster. WE HAVE EVIDENCE of this over the past 1200 years.
This, I hope I am sharing is based upon evidence...not some made up idea. Although some/many will disagree.

Yes, as such we may be standing on opposite sides of that quote. Your 'personal' view of Fascism is not the view, in place since the 19th century. Thus, I think you might want to not call it Facism...maybe something else. ... unless of course you are trying to change its meaning altogether.
This is said in the interest of Peace
PEACE!

On the "far-right" you have fascism, socialism that is authoritarian, nationalistic, etc etc.... On the "far- left" you have communism, which doesn't actually exist anyhere on earth in it's purest definition, but has been manifested in less than a handful of countries, which on the ground are simply authoritarian, one-party socialist states.
In my view, it doesn't add up.
So consequently I don't ascribe to "left-right" political models. I think they are an ancient method of "divide and conquer." Polarization to me is a tried and true method of control and consolidation of power.
You won't find me discussing or arguing left vs right.
But looking at our current american situation, I find government agencies on all levels directing and policing the flow of information. I don't want to hi-jack the topic, but this is certainly well documented in the case of Twitter.
My limited observtion is this: Elon Musk's acquisition of Twitter will most likely serve to bring back all those who fled to alternate social media. In essence, my view is that this development is simply a re-consolidation effort.

Can you support your supposition or offer any evidence the origins of Facism were not progressive?

I'd like to help, but this site is the wrong place.
The world has come to understand the difference between far-right and ...
You may not like the idea of "far right and Fascism", but as the world is changing right before your eyes, its up to you to decide where you are willing to help humankind: evidence or hear-say without supporting evidence.
Seek evidence and if it needs refining, refine it. Noise-makers wants us to burn evidence and to ignore any better understandings that evidence may lead us to.
IN my years on the planet, I have found that many want to argue evidence info. I am not one.
Choose the kind of human you feel we need on this planet to make it a better place for everyone versus the Fascist-type of view that wants it followers to rule everyone, starting with a rewriting of historical evidence.
I would think that technology focused people are evidence based people. ... at least I want to hope such.

I recently heard someone saying the same thing - that fascism combined the power of the state to drive corporates to control the population. I certainly see this sort of thing evolving in a post-covid world.
I was fascinated to learn that the defintion of fascism came from Mussolini:
"Mussolini coined the term "fascism" in 1919. The word comes from the Italian "fascio," meaning a bundle or group, and is considered a term for a militant brotherhood. "
(may have even been earlier than 1919 in fact)
The definition - in Mussolini's own words - makes interesting reading:
"Thus many of the practical expressions of Fascism such as party organization, system of education, and discipline can only be understood when considered in relation to its general attitude toward life. A spiritual attitude. Fascism sees in the world not only those superficial, material aspects in which man appears as an individual, standing by himself, self-centered, subject to natural law, which instinctively urges him toward a life of selfish momentary pleasure; it sees not only the individual but the nation and the country; individuals and generations bound together by a moral law, with common traditions and a mission which suppressing the instinct for life closed in a brief circle of pleasure, builds up a higher life, founded on duty, a life free from the limitations of time and space, in which the individual, by selfsacrifice, the renunciation of self-interest, by death itself, can achieve that purely spiritual existence in which his value as a man consists."

Compared to 1917, what is happening in the photo is just a beer party.
In 1917, communism (originally bolshevism) was fighting capitalism. Now all parties are capitalists, respectively, there is no class struggle.
PS. When people don't like one particular person in the government, it's not a class struggle, but personal hostility.

We now have "capitalist struggle"
I have family in the U.S. and they think Trump is a capitalist who loves ordinary people and is so rich he won't steal.
Once the people were led by intellectuals now by millionaires.
Re: Elon Musk completes Twitter takeover and ‘fires top executives
In addition to the main party, there are a bunch more. But there are three main ones. Well, everything is clear with the main one. In the second and third there is a deep crisis. In the second, a charismatic leader recently died (yes, the one who was going to bomb Poland ) and everything withered without him. The third is the Communists. The leader is alive there, but after he started going to church, everything became very strange (the Communists fought the Church for more than 70 years and preached atheism).
It seems that this is not quite the case in Poland, but there is a circus with a special local flavor

In Poland is similar. Those who didn't go to church now stand in the front row at the altar
I heard you are have another Independence March planned there. And the slogans are not bad: "Silny Naród, Wielka Polska". Not planning to go? In the fresh air, in principle, it is good for health
I still remember the universal Polish word for everything that happens. How can two countries that equally love nature and especially trees swear at all? Even for the sake of the road, trees are not cut down. Only we have them closer to the center of the road But the Polish version is also filled with care and love for the environment (very similar to my hometown ) :

Don't like large gatherings of people you can get hit in the head with a piece of cobblestone or a flare
And are you celebrating 1612?
Re: Elon Musk completes Twitter takeover and ‘fires top executives
There's no time to celebrate I am currently gluing a baseboard in the room (I want to hide all the wires, there is a built-in cable channel). By the way, "made in Poland". The company Cezar. Smuggling continues to work properly :
