FatDog64-813 - First impressions....
Hi! I installed version 813 and tested it in four ways:
1st I downloaded the ISO and installed it in the conventional way;
I added the following packages, necessary for the proper functioning of other web browsers:
gtk3-3.22.30-x86_64-1;
at-spi2-core-2.28.0-x86_64-1;
at-spi2-atk-2.26.2-x86_64-1;
glib-networking-2.56.1-x86_64-1;
gsettings-desktop-schemas-3.28.0-x86_64-1;
libsoup-2.62.3-x86_64-1;
librest-0.8.1-x86_64-1; and
libnotify-gtk3-0.7.8-x86_64-1.
The tested browsers (Chrome and Firefox) crashed and closed when trying to download a picture from the internet or send a picture to illustrate a comment on the Puppy Forum.
2nd Using the ISO-Builder, I customized the fd64.sfs - 219Mb.
Observed problems:
Missing "autologin" in /bin; and does not transfer or receive images via browser.
3rd Using a more ignorant method, I did a manual remaster, with search via Pfind and
deletion of unwanted packages (OpenOffice, Gimp and Seamonkey) leaving fd64.sfs with 229Mb. It still does not transfer or receive images via browsers.
4th So, I tested another way. Noting that some packages were updated to 2022 versions and others remained the same, with their respective previous dates, all packages dated 2022 belonging to version 813 were merged to fd64.sfs (from version 812).
It looked like this: fd64.sfs - 239Mb
The problems found have disappeared and no other bugs have yet been observed.
FatDog64 is like this! Either way, it works.....or use it the way the masters recommend!
