Chromebook Keyboard, Sound, and Brightness Issues
I tried booting Puppy Linux, from USB, on two different laptops: ASUS ROG Strix and a cheap, 50 dollar, used Chromebook. The ASUS was just fine: The keyboard and trackpad worked, straight-away. I forget if the sound was functional.
As for the Chromebook, the keyboard did not work at all. The trackpack was very insensitive, so it was hard to move around, and when I tried to adjust the settings - it - just stopped responding completely and I had to reboot the system, to get it back. I tried setting the pre-installed keyboard function to "Chromebook" and "Acer laptop" to no avail. The brightness was also not remediated by the "Redshift" application, as the laptop's native backlight feature, was still the same - even with Puppy Linux's - native gamma and color adjustments.
Anyways, I don't expect these issues to be resolved any-time soon, so I installed Gallium Bismuth OS, as they had a distro specifically made for the Chromebook. I just am interested in learning whatever I can, at a slow pace. I pretty much have zero experience, but I am patient, enough to learn. Thank you for reading and responding, if you do.
