MATTER has become an industry standard for how home devices operate within your home (or building's) walls.

In another topic in this area of the forum reminded me of this; coming together of industry manufacturers for consumer good.

A video is surfaced to help with our understanding.

Enjoy the knowledge

I love my dumb home!

I have no desire to use my phone to flush the toilet in my house :shock: :roll:

Yes me too, I would be too afraid of dropping it in.

I love my dumb home!

I do so to help my family and my grandkids as this is their world we have built for their normal use.

It doesn't matter if we are in the development side of the industry, its just that combined in this world, these things are ever-present in their use.

So I try to stay on top to help them and my 'senior' friends who struggle to get stuff to work, from time to time. (Don't know why I am calling my friends 'senior' as I am as old/older than they are :) )

On the "matter" of MATTER, it is a benefit to many of us as the manufacturers are taking steps to allow their units to participate on a common plane, together. To us, users, it 'Matters'. To the manufacturers, it "MATTER"s. :thumbup2:

And, as I stop to think about this matter (ha), I remember what a dumb home was when I was growing up. Even the home of 25 years ago was technologically advance (smart) compared to my dumb home I grew up in. If my grand-parents were time traveled to today, I wonder what they would think as they look at our homes today. ... no party-line telephone, microwaves, TV screens, ... I think it would matter.

@Clarity

I think it will matter a lot when you get your ESG score and they have downgraded your credit because you flush the toilet too often.

WE can thank our governments for that. That ship has already sailed few years ago.
