How to access Anydesk?

Hi
Has anyone managed to set unattended access to Anydesk? I try, but it just prompts for a password but doesn't activate the option.
I would like to run a headless setup and nobody is present to give me access via Anydesk.
Thanks
Peter

@PeterE :-

I can only find help instructions on their website for Windows machines, but from the look of things the procedure is identical across all supported platforms.

https://support.anydesk.com/knowledge/u ... 0Access%2C

Your main stumbling block may be getting permissions correct at both ends. Also, although not strictly necessary, it's recommended to have AnyDesk installed and running on the headless machine, too, since it makes token generation/acceptance much simpler.

Mike. ;)

Hi
I Have it running on the headless machine and was wanting to authorise unattended access. The tick box won't allow itself to be ticked, and just requests a password, but it remains unticked. Anydesk is also prompting to say that a more up to date version is available but unsure how to install it.

@PeterE

You always need to tell us versions, what Puppy and what Anydesk?

If you are using Friendly Fossa64 and it's installed Anydesk, then I can confirm you can't check unattended access. Will look for a fix.

Edit: try the fix in the next post

For right now the solution is to run @mikewalsh Anydesk portable available here:https://forum.puppylinux.com/viewtopic.php?t=1104 on the server.

Friendly Fossa64 and it's installed Anydesk should work fine on the client.

@PeterE

Friendly Fossa64 has Anydesk v5.5.6 installed and all seems to work normal except unattended access. Turns out unattended access won't activate when running as root user.

Here's how to get that to work:

-open a terminal
-type: run-as-spot anydesk
-press: enter

Now setup unattended access as usual.
