Hm, you ask but didn't try?
Or you knew already it is "open" for "everybody"?
(All stuff is packed into a selfextracting shellscript, java or whatever is on board - world-usable!)
But:
Even if running in a containerized console it will put it's nose into the seamonkey- or firefox-activities (in another container). Assuming it gets all out of the /tmp - files? And it can read the clipboard (glipper).
Containers offer one more user "zeus" - maybe worth trying.
I used the elderly EasyOS Dunfell 3.1
I'd give a lot for seeing good old stuff gnumeric or abiword so easily installed on EasyOS like the jd., but they are made for "gnome only".
Prickle me for this or push me, but tell us about your experiences!

Hi williwaw, hi mann

I've tried with some old .pet and from the official site a .jar and a .sh file.
Nothing at all.

I will read how to
1) make a pack (like portable ones in windows?)
2) compile from source and
3) how to pack into a selfexctracting shellscript.
Any help (links, guides) welcome

Thank you for your responce

Hi, @kapioskanis .....and :welcome: to the "kennels"..!

O-kay. You've mentioned a .jar file; this is, of course, a Java-powered version. Jave apps are renowned for being able to run on absolutely any platform.......so long as you have JRE (the Java Runtime Environment) installed. No Java app will run without this.

JDownloader. Hm. Is that from the JGoodies team? I use a couple of their Java apps quite regularly in a range of various different Puppies, both 32- and 64-bit - JPDFViewer, and JDiskReport. Just need the correct version of JRE installed for the particular Puppy.

I'm guessing you weren't aware of the need for the runtime environment?

Mike. ;)

Isn't 'jdk' the development toolkit, Barry.....for those who want to code/build their own Java apps?

True. But correct me if I am wrong..... I think..... Jdk CONTAINS jre ... So should work. It just will have some extra stuff he doesn't need.

@Airdale :-

Entirely possible. I've never downloaded the JDK, only ever the JRE from Oracle, so.....I'll take your word for that. Wouldn't know! :D
