Now have fast bootup

Post by BarryK »

I have posted recently about faster running, as implemented in EasyOS 4.0.

There remained a problem of slow first-time bootup, if booting on a cheap flash-stick, and when doing an update.

Problem solved, first-bootup time is now 1/10 of before. Explanation posted to blog:

"update" also sees if you have already downloaded the new .img file, into /mnt/${WKG_DEV}/${WKG_DIR}, by whatever means, and will offer to update, without having to re-download it.

nice feature. If I understand correctly, you can manually download and place the new .img and when update icon is clicked, you will be presented with a choice?
