Audacious in Bionic32 doesn't always display artwork

I recently installed the Audacious music player from the PPM and something odd is happening. I will first point out that many hours have been spent in the past ensuring my entire music collection (approx 8,000 tracks) is tagged correctly, and all album artwork is embedded in the music files, there are no separate jpg images.
But when it comes to play some tracks it appears to decide for itself whether or not it's going to display the artwork. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't, it seems to be quite random and I haven't identified any pattern to it. Apart from that all seems to be ok. I've used Audacious with other Linux distros, and I've never come across this before, so I assume it's a Puppy issue more than an Audacious issue. This is with Bionic 32, just on the off chance that has any bearing on it.
Somehow I just know that someone, somewhere is going to say "why don't I try DeadBeef, why don't I try this, or that". Well I've tried DeadBeef before and had far more issues than this with it so no thank you. Besides, I'm not looking for an alternative, I'm looking to fix the problem.

Since you have installed via PPM in BionicPup32, am I right in assuming that this is the Ubuntu version of Audacious?
There is a version which I compiled from source code here:-

You may wish to see if it performs any better.
Audacious uses plugins for its various functions, but a fault with artwork which occurs sometimes but not always can not be explained by that, so it is a bit of a mystery.

Thank you for that Oscar, I will give yours a try and I'll let you know how it goes, although I probably won't get chance to try it until next weekend. I would guess the one in the PPM is the Ubuntu version, but that's all it is, a guess. And yes, it is a mystery, which has baffled me!
