Controlling-Laptop-Touchpads, Part One

This topic assumes you are using one of the recommended distro's or remasters.

Laptop touchpads can be problematic and downright annoying. Puppy has some built in controls that can help.

  • click Menu>Setup>Mouse/Keyboard Wizard>Touchpad

For those who are continually hitting the touchpad while typing, try adjusting the Palm settings.
Start with values of Width = 10, Pressure = 100. The lower you go the more sensitive the pad is to random strikes. If you adjust to low it can disable normal use, so change slowly and test. If you've gone to low, attach an external mouse to reset the values.

See Part Two for more advanced control.
