Hello Barry,

Did you know that there was another EasyOS distribution ?

Look at the attached image. Surprising, isn't it ? :)

I'm trying to translate the beginning (from french to english with 90091e translate) :

"EasyOS is a Linux distribution created by the company Neuf Cegetel (Neuf cegetel is a french telecom company, actually it names SFR) for its EasyGate that emphasizes ease of use and lightness. This operating system is entirely based on free software, the software developed by Neuf Cegetel being placed under the GNU GPL license..."

EasyOS works with EasyGate. And, it would seem that EasyOS (easyneuf) cannot be installed on any pc, if I understand correctly.
I don't know if this OS still exists.

Regards

The external link to easyneuf.org gives a server error.

Here is a link to a wikipedia page about Neuf Cegetel : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neuf_Cegetel

Neuf cegetel is now part of the SFR group. Since 2008, Neuf cegetel no longer exists.

And SFR has not taken up the concept of EasyOS/EasyGate.

Today, there is only one EasyOS: barryK's that you know well, I presume :) .

Respectfully

Ah, looking at the site, it's the origonals from which the Sugar desktop came from. I'm not sure whether it was their staff that wanted to keep the desktop going or someone just forked it off when notice of it's demise came about. That fills in some details of Sugar's source that I couldn't track, I shall add that to my notes.

And another two EasyOS at

https://www.onworks.net/software/windows/app-easyos , This is a Windows app named easyOS whose latest release can be downloaded as easyOSv1.msi. It can be run online in the free hosting provider OnWorks for workstations.

and

https://github.com/sunlggggg/easyos although this one is basically dead

then there's

https://easym2m.in/ although this one is actually easysos, it's talked/refered about as easyos elsewhere.
