Download PupClockset-2.8.1
https://www.smokey01.com/radky/PupClockset-2.8.1.pet

Changelog:

PupClockset-2.8.1
• Bugfix: random failure of the PupClockset GUI in Pups with recent iterations of the JWM window manager due to an intermittent trigger of the 5000 ms (5 sec) menu-command-timeout originally introduced in JWM vgit-1659 (an early developmental release of JWM v2.4).

PupClockset-2.8
• Add support for separate action commands initiated by right and left mouse clicks of the JWM tray clock (requirement: JWM >= 2.3.0). Go to the PupClockset Option tab to select the action command of the right mouse button (default: PupClockset). In PupClockset 2.8 the action command of the left mouse button defaults to a popup calendar (either minixcal or xcalendar).
• Adjust GUI for improved presentation in non-English locales.
• Bugfix: failed assignment of font attributes (weight and style) to the JWM tray clock in non-English locales. (thanks thinkpadfreak)

Hi radky,

I'm using JWMDesk 3.5.4 along with JWM Theme Manager in Bionicpup64. PupClockset doesn't seem to work with those. If I attempt to change the timezone, time display or color I'm confronted by a notice:

"PupClockset does not support this clock and/or desktop environment."

Changing timezones can be handled otherwise and is rarely needed. That it always shows seconds isn't much of an inconvenience. But I used to be able to change the color via PupClockset's Options panel so that there would be sufficient contrast between the display of time and the task bar's color to read the time without any difficulty.

That can no longer be done. Or am I missing something?

Hi Mike,

I booted a pristine BionicPup64 and installed JWMdesk 3.5.4 plus PupClockset 2.8.1 and everything functions properly for me.

Keep in mind, PupClockset supports multiple window managers and panels common to Puppy such as Fbpanel, Fluxbox, Icewm, JWM, Lxpanel and Xfce4.

With each launch, PupClockset checks the PID of the above window managers and launches a GUI appropriate for the one that is currently active. Generally, only one such window manager is active but in some scenarios a user may launch the JWM interface while another panel (such as XFCE4) is inadvertently running from a prior session.

Additionally, when changing the clock format or font attribute, PupClockset checks the contents of /etc/windowmanager to identify the current window manager and then chooses XML and strftime code appropriate for that specific manager.

Please make sure two conflicting panels are not running simultaneously and also please confirm the appropriate window manager is identified in /etc/windowmanager.

Hi Mike,

Did you find a solution for your problem by following the suggestions above ?

1 - Is there another panel running (other than jwm) ?
2 - Does /etc/windowmanager show jwm as the current window manager ?

Thanks
