Installing to a Bootable USB Drive with Save File

Post by rockedge »

If you created a bootable CD or USB using the recommended programs you may now want to create a bootable fat32 USB that can also store a Save File on the USB.

NOTE: if you created your USB using Rufus you already have this.

This topic assumes you are using one of the recommended distro's or remasters.

  • Boot Puppy from your CD or USB drive

  • insert the target USB
    Menu>Setup>StickPup

  • click the this radio button

  • click OK

  • click the radio button for the target USB

  • click OK

Confirm the correct USB is chosen

  • click OK

If you are interested in creating a bootable USB that can contain a Save Folder, see this advanced topic

If you are using a Puppy version that does not included StickPup, you can download and install the Frugalpup Installer package which includes it.
