One more tit-bit of info: eMMC flash memory does have wear leveling, so if you can find a cheap eMMC-to-usb adaptor, that might be a good alternative to flash sticks.

On the other hand, why not buy an M.2 SSD and a usb adaptor? I see a WD Green 128GB M.2 SSD for AU$30 in a local store, and an adaptor for AU$12 on aliexpress.

...was just reading about WD Blue versus Green. They state the Green has lower lifetime, don't recommend.

I needed the rtw89pci module for wifi to work. Here is a pet file for anyone that may need it.

Note that the next release of Easy will have the 5.15.16 kernel, and I will probably stay with that for awhile.
Note also, you can't compile modules with the recent test release of Easy that has a 5.15.16 kernel, as it is an earlier kernel compile -- modules are signed, for security, and i don't think it will work on latest 5.15.16 compiled kernel.

I tried another ssd card and MX worked ok, so it was a faulty card. It had Team 16GB written on it. MX seems a great OS Also downloaded a few others and tried them incuding Twister and ubuntu ,Sparky. They all worked fine though twister is becoming my favourite- after easy os of course.

Yes. Faulty cards are quite common. I have a couple that have gone bad.

One of the strange things about mxlinux is you have to track down the app for setting time and date
or else the setup won't be correct.

Puppy linux sets the time at first boot which is better.

Geany spell checker is not working after installing the plugins through the Package Manager.
The dictionaries are in /usr/share/hunspell. Spellchecking in Libre Office works OK.
