Gslapt malfunction?

Hello all,
I tried to update to the latest VLC with Gslapt, but after downloading, it would give me the message

Failed to download vlc-qt5: MD5 checksum mismatch, override with --no-md5

I manually downloaded the file and checked and compared the MD5 checksum with that listed in the repository, and they seemed to match. I've installed it manually. Perhaps something is amiss in the Gslapt system. For what it's worth, the previous version of VLC in the repository gave no such message and installed smoothly.
