looking for emulators for BionicPup32 8.0
would ubuntu apps run on this system ? how to install them

Most of them should work.
You have access to ubuntu repositories (Bionic) through the Puppy package manager (in the menu).
Update the database first.

Open Puppy package manager.
You should see a "Configure" button.
After clicking on it, another window will open with the choice "Update Database".
