The FSB of Russia stopped the activities of the hacker group REvil, which sent computer viruses to extort money. The reason for the investigation was the appeal of the US authorities.
In particular, hackers attacked Apple and the Texas government. REvil hackers sent out malware that encrypted information. They demanded money for the return of access to the data.
To cash out money, hackers bought expensive goods on the Internet. In particular, FSB officers found in their possession 20 premium cars purchased with stolen funds. They also seized over 426 million rubles, 600 thousand dollars and 500 thousand euros.
It is believed that the REvil group has been completely neutralized. The FSB of Russia notified the US authorities about the successful completion of the operation.
Earlier, the US State Department promised to pay up to $ 10 million for information about people who belonged to REvil. Do you think the US State Department will pay the FSB these 10 million dollars?
